Nigeriaas we all know, is a very rich nation with lots of natural and human resources.
Often times, I hear lots of persons saying that we are poor, and we can never be great. Although we as Nigerians, know the content of our nation but do not know how the content is being managed by those of us in authority.
This country is blessed. But are we blessed with wonderful leaders that can stand and accomplish their promises? Well, they are few good leaders in the nation, but can this few persons project the economic status of our country to the next level?
These are questions I always asked myself. Remember that a tree can not make a forest. For we to come together, we have to learn how to speak and do things in one voice.
Note that Nigeriais listed as one of the greatest oil producers in and across Africabut we can barely boast of a good refinery. How can we supply oil and yet we lack constant power supply, good road networks, standard learning facilities etc.
There are strange things happening in this nation. I can not imagine myself being thirsty in the mist of water and that is why it bothers me a lot when we prefer other nations to ours.
I walk along the street and all I see are people suffering and wasting in poverty whereas they are in the mist of plenty.” Is this as a result of corruption or greed”! I asked myself. Everyone seems to be complaining, but no one has proffered a great solution to combat these problems.
Should we watch our nation perish in the hands of evil men who build poorly structured institutions and send their wards abroad to study? Or should we come out in one voice and say, “this nation must move forward.”
I believe that we alone can bring that change we have been looking for in our motherland if only we can help improve and polish the talents we have here. Let us come together in one voice and appreciate this great nation, let us shun corruption and embrace love and peace, let us put all manner of greed and pursue charity, let us forget about violence and run after creative innovations, let us say we are the future that will never give way to evil because we are the generations of transformation.
