So far candidates from about 6 to 7 faculties have already written their Post Utme screening test and we have seen the feedback of some of these candidates; more especially in their performances. Well i had wanted to talk about the cut off marks for the University of Portharcourt as a lot of candidates have been worried if they are actually going to gain admission or not with either a low or a high cut off mark.

Now here are some questions you may want to know there explanations:

– Will i be admitted if i scored 180 and below in the Uniport Post-Utme test?

– What is the cut-Off Mark for Engineering,Medicine etc?

– Will i still gain admission even if i scored 135 and below?

These are majorly the three most asked question on this portal and today i am gonna give you a close answer to these.

Now lets answer the first question “Will i be admitted if i scored 180 and below in the Uniport Post-Utme test?”

Now this question is  very technical. 180 and below what? if you meant 150 to 180 then there may be a possibility but…

Ok this is the “But” there. Uniport somehow admits students with low cut off marks and in most cases you may not be admitted into that particular department you had earlier applied for. This is where you see students who had earlier applied for admission into the department “Geology” admitted into another department which may be related in most cases.So if you had a Post-Utme score within the range of 150 and above and a JAMB UTME score of 200 and above, there is a good chance for you to gain admission into your choice department but depending on the overall performance of candidates applying for the same department as yourself.

– What is the Post-Utme cut-Off Mark for medicine and Surgery, Engineering etc?

Well a chance for admission into the department of Medicine and Surgery has always been within the range of 220 and above and a better chance has been within 250 and above. Note that the department of Medicine and Surgery is a pretty tough department in Uniport and as such, you should have a good score in your JAMB (Atleast 200 and above). Like i earlier said, admission into Uniport can be funny at times; you may see those with high score not gaining admission and those with lower scores than yourself gaining admission into the school.

– Will i still gain admission even if i scored 135 and below?

Yea you can but is still under probability though. In time past, a lot of students who scored even lesser than 135 have gained admission into the school and sometimes, into their department of choice. That does not guaranty that you will sure gain admission if you scored 135 and below though. You chances here is more like 40/60, you either gain admission or not.

FINALLY: if you know you have not done well in the 2015 Uniport Post-Utme examination, there is always a way out. Have you considered running the 2015 Uniport Basic Programme? if you perform well in the basic then you should be able to gain admission into your department of choice.
