Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship

Google, through the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship aim to encourage women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders.

Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients will each receive a € 7,000 (or equivalent) award for the 2014-2015 academic year. A group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s academic background, passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science, and demonstrated leadership.

Shell Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship

This is a scholarship proudly sponsored by the Shell petroleum company. The scholarship is aimed at improving the educational core value of students with learning passion. This scholarship is held annually and quite a number of students have benefited from this scheme.

OERL Scholarship To India

Although application for this scholarship position is still open to the public as per the period of writing the post, OERL Study in India Scholarship programme started in association with Indian Education Promotion Council (IEPC) in 2010 of which about 34 Nigerian students went for study in Saint Francis De-Sale College (University of Bangalore) India. These first sets of students have graduated in June 2013.  The 2010 scholarship programme was restricted to students in Lagos state being the first edition and the publicity was done by Super screen Television in Lagos. Due to some logistic issues, in 2011, there was a hold in OERL scholarship and by 2012, OERL scholarship came up again with 18 winners in various courses.

RSSDA Scholarship

Though this year’s scholarship have been delayed, numerous students have benefited from this scholarship. I have got lot of my friends as beneficiaries to this scholarship. This scholarship posistion is proudly sponsored by the Rivers State Government and is open to all Nigerians (Terms and condition Applies). The scholarship form normally comes up within the first or second week of december. Applicants are sits for the examination in the month of February while the venue for the examination is normally held in the Rivers State University Of Science and Technology. I have received quite a lot of calls concerning this scholarship, i really do not know why the board has not started but still keep your fingers cross. I guess the political instability in Rivers State has delayed the launch of the scholarship.

NNPC/NAE/OANDO PSC Post Graduate Scholarship

The NNPC scholarship is held annually and on behalf of the NNPC/NAE/OANDO PSC, is committed to the training and development of manpower as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

British American Tobacco Undergraduate Scholarship
