June 2nd 2016: One of the top education news that broke the internet is the recently scrapped out Post UTME. In a recent release from the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu scrapped the Post Utme examination conducted by tertiary institutions in the country and this has sparked a little dialogue among candidates who sat for this year’s JAMB if 2016 POST UTME forms will be out on sale or not.
Now here is why i think the Federal Government may be missing alot. Goodnews the Federal Government is scrapping out POST UTME, but according to the first publication, here is what was said:
“The government explained that all tertiary institutions were at liberty to conduct screening for candidates seeking admission into any school.Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, said this on Thursday in Abuja after declaring open the 2016 Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria.”
MUST READ: Just In! FG finally scraps out Post UTME exams in institutions
Let me draw your attention to the bolded words above and what i think is the interpretation of it. This means that FG has cancelled POST UTME but schools are still free to conduct screening for candidates seeking admission from them. Now the in thing is that your school of choice may decide not to let go of continuously conducting POST UTME annually since they still have the freedom to either choose to sell Post UTME forms or not.
Don’t get too excited! The POST UTME may still have a strong hold in some Universities, more especially Federal Varsities and State Universities with more candidates.
