Following the protest by part-ti me students of Federal Polytechnic Auchi yesterday, the institution has been shut down till further notice.

The protested started when the students in the School of Evening Studies where stopped from participating on the ongoing examination for not paying their school fees.

However, the students insisted on gaining entrance onto the examination but where resisted by the institution’s security personnel triggering agitation from the students and degenerated to violent protest.

Cars belonging to lecturers as well as other facilities on the school were damaged.

When contacted, the the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mustapher Oshiobugie, said the situation has been brought under control and that no student sustained injury.

He equally stated that the management is deliberating on the situation and that the institution has been shut down till further notice.
