The United States Agency for International Development and the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree have signed a memorandum of understanding to run some teaching and research programmes at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.

The deal will result in the establishment of a Faculty of Agricultural Science and Engineering in the polytechnic.

The Media Relations Officer of the school, Mr. Tope Abiola, made this known in a statement on Monday.

According to him, all necessary facilities are in place for the commencement of the programme.

USAID alongside the Winrock International, he added, agreed to support the school through its “Farmer to Farmer Project.”

Abiola further noted that a Professor of Agriculture, Soil and Botanical Science, William Zimmerman, from the United States is already in the school to discuss with its leadership on the success of the programme.

Meanwhile, Abiola said the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, had promised to support the project.
