The School of Environmental studies, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State, has organized its first international environmental conference themed ‘Sustainability of land, shelter, urban development and management in developing countries’.

The conference, organized to proffer solutions for the sustainability of land, shelter and urban development as required by developing countries to aid continuous and proper development, gave room for the public to be enlighten on topics such as buildings, planning and management, urban and environmental development among others.

The conference took place at the school premises and was attended by some prominent academia such as the Director, School of Environmental Studies, Koyejo Jolaoso; the first Vice- President, Nigeria Institute of Estate Survey and Valuers, Ajayi Patunola; former Vice Chancellor, Federal  University of Technology, Akure, Professor Joseph Fadamiro, past President, Nigeria Institute of Town Planners; Kabir Yari, Associate Professor, Department of Property Studies, University of Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Kolade Arogundade, among others.

Giving a holistic view to land administration and urbanization in Nigeria and examining the correlation between the present trend of urbanization and shelter as one of the mechanism of the entire environment, keynote speaker and Vice President, Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Dr. Bolarinde Ajayi, said the African forum and other continental initiatives have roles to play at building better Africa cities and making them livable and blissful.
