Firefighters are working to contain a fire that has entirely destroyed a wooden house in Gooseneck Bend today.
Jessie Wilson, the house’s owner, was slightly injured but escaped when a neighbor, Blake Tarver, helped him out of the living room after the fire started at around 11:30 a.m. at 2995 S. 85th St. East.
Wilson was treated by EMS responders at the scene and is now with family, said Tarver, who saw and reported the fire when driving to work.
The fire, which has been contained at the house, started going up the mountain at around 1:45 as firefighters continued working, Tarver said.
