Katsina State Government has released the sum of N569 for payment of scholarship allowances to indigenes studying at different institutions of higher learning across the country.

Breakdown of the money included N10.5 million paid to 35 law school students.

The director general of the state scholarship Trust Fund, Shehu Muhammad k/sauri who lauded efforts of the state government for prompt release of the funds in the face of lean resources, said last year, government disbursed almost N339 million asĀ  allowances of 26,697 continuing students.

Shehu Muhammad k/sauri expressed appreciation and gratitude to members of the board of trustees for managing the resources of the funds judiciously.

Meanwhile, the special Adviser on Higher Education, Badamasi Lawal Charanchi has expressed gratitude to Governor Aminu Bello Masari for releasing the funds despite the shortage of money from the federation accounts.

Badamasi commended the foresight and sense of maturity exhibited by the students for their patience while waiting for the money.
