It is very frustrating not knowing how to do simple things sometimes. Imagine a student failing a test because he does not know how to use a simple command prompt to get the serial number of his Pc or an applicant failing an interview because of this same issue.
Well, we are all learning and will always continue to learn. I decided to share this little idea of mine to help widen our knowledge a bit.
For the benefit of those that do not know what command prompt is, A command language is a language used to execute series of commands that will other wise be executed at the prompt. It is a language used by computer personnel for effective communication with their system.
Now get your laptop or Desktop ready and lets try using a simple command to get the serial number of your Pc.
How To Get The Serial Number Of Your PC using A Simple Command language
  • Click on the start + click on Run.
  • In a situation you do not see the run button, use your search box and find the word run(mostly associated with window 7 users).
  • After you might have done that, type the word cmd in the run dialog box provided and OK as shown in the diagram above.
  • Another box appears.(See diagram below)
  • Type the sentence Wmic bios get serial number after the underscore symbol( _ ) and enter.
  • That is all. The serial number of your Pc displays.
                                  This works for every system you can lay your hands on.
