A professor of Architecture, Olatunde Arayela, has been appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Until his new appointment, Arayela, 57, was the Director of Academic Planning of the institution. He had also served as chairman/member of many committees in the school.

In a letter conveying the appointment, the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Modupe Ajayi, said Arayela, whose appointment took effect on April 1, 2015, would be responsible for academic administration, curriculum development, examination, admissions and other senate matters.

The new DVC obtained Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Architecture in 1981 and 1983 respectively from the University of Ife, Osun State, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He has Master’s of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the same institution in 1996. In 2000, he bagged a Ph.D. in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State.
