The Governing Council and Management of Lagos State University has direct that the university be re-opened for administrative and academic activities with effect from today, Monday, May 18, 2015.

“Consequently, all staff and students are enjoined to go about their normal activities, in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. It is hoped that all outstanding issues would be resolved in due course.”

This was contained in a statement issued by the management of the institution.

The management ordered for immediate commencement of administrative and academic activities in the citadel of learning.

It would recalled that the institution before March 28, 2015 ordered students and staff to vacate the campus with immediate effect.

However, the workers in the university also had their own protest, calling on the vice chancellor, Professor John Obafunwa, to proceed on terminal leave and asking the state government to give the university an acting vice chancellor.
