According to the news broadcasted 48 hours ago, the President was speaking in the Presidential Villa while in audience with the king of Bonny Kingdom, HRH, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III.
The President described Bonny as a key community that has facilitated a number of development facilities in the country, including trade and industry. He observed that Bonny Kingdom has institutional giants like the NLNG and therefore must be seen as very important to the country.
Dr. Jonathan, who was responding to requests by the King for completion of ongoing projects in the area, told the people that Bonny was very important to the Federal Government at any time.
In his presentation, King Edward Dappa Pepple III enumerated the Bonny-Bodo road project, Bonny ring road, the Bonny Federal Polytechnic, Federal Housing Project and the establishment of a sea port in the kingdom.
They decried the health hazards in the area following construction of gas pipelines and gas explosions, calling on the Federal Government to improve the only general hospital in the area.
