Job interviews are conducted all over the world on daily basis. Out of every hundred persons called for a job interview, only 10% emerge successful. Now the secret of every interview cannot be predicted as various companies have their different policies. While some companies ask very awkward questions, others ask simple but technical questions that can make you fail or halt you from moving to the next level. Today i am gonna be strict with my point. There are some certain things or characters we display that hinders us from emerging successful in any Job interview. Your ability to think fast, answer wisely and communicate more effectively with the panel gives you a better edge in getting the job. Yes! in Nigeria, we have all housed the thoughts that interviews can only be passed only when you have the right connection. That fact can not be disagreed as this is what has been observed in our society at large.

Have you been through a job interview in the past and you were told to your face “Thank You For Your Participation, But You Were Not Successful.” Lol. That hurts so much especially when your dependency on the job was equivalent to the love you have for life. Though you have failed the interview in the past, do you really want to have any issue in the future? If your answer is “No,” then you should not miss the points below. Find out why you failed that job interview;

You Were Not Confident

Have you been in an interview before and your feet were shaking as a result of the questions thrown at you? if you have been in such situation, then you will understand what i mean. Confidence is the trust you got for yourself. You can’t convince the judges when you are not convinced of yourself. That is so impossible.

You Were Poorly Dressed

I understand you are a job seeker and you got no money to spend on clothing. What ever happens, do not make them feel you are just one hungry guy or lady seeking for that job. You may send the wrong signal if you do so. Try to dress corporate with polished shoes. Give them the impression that you are just ok before you came.

You Revealed Alot

You will agree with me that a lot of persons have failed interviews as a result of this. As an applicants, it is not wise for you to reveal how much you earned in your previous job. That singular action may scare you potential employer. Though some companies ask their applicants how much they earned in their previous job. If you find yourself in that kind of situation, be wise enough to give them a moderate figure.

You Lacked An Effective Communication Skill

No company will like to employ anyone who lacks effective communication skills; You may just be a burden to them and an embarrassment to their clients if you are employed. So work on your use of vocabulary.

You Are Not Qualified

If the job is above your level of qualification then you can not be taken.

Maybe You Had Mouth Odour/Body Odour

Judges get irritated by these particular factor. Before going for the job interview, you should at-least ask someone dear to you to review you packaging(Your Dressing). You might have gone for the interview with the idea that you were okay and ready to face the panel forgetting that your body odour is capable of causing havoc.
