Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into BOWEN UNIVERSITY degree programmes for the 2016/2017 academic session.

ELIGIBILITY
(i) UTME
(a) All applicants are required to sit for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

(b) Applicants are to complete on-line application by visiting Bowen University website atwww.bowenuniversty-edu.org or obtain a form at any of the stipulated sales centres nationwide.

(c) All applicants are required to have credits at SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or approved equivalent in at least 5 subjects which must include English Language and four other subjects as may be specified by each Faculty.

(d) The five Credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings.

(e) For Medicine and Surgery (MBBS)and Nursing Science(B.Nsc) programmes,the five Credits must be obtained at one sitting.

(f) Candidates awaiting results may apply.

(g) All applicants will be required to go through Bowen University’s Screening Exercise.

(h) Interested candidates who have applied to JAMB for admission and wish to change their first choice to Bowen University are required to:

1. apply for change of institution

2. obtain the BOWEN UNIVERSITY admission Online Application form
3. participate in the Bowen Post UTME screening exercise.

(ii) DIRECT ENTRY

All applicants for direct entry must satisfy any one of the following:

(a) NCE, ND and approved equivalents with at least Upper Credit in relevant fields.
(b) At least two Advanced Level passes at acceptable grade level .
(c) The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB),Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board(JUPEB)p; levels.
(d) In addition to the NCE/ND/IJMB or two Advanced Level papers specified by each Faculty or programme, candidates must also satisfy Ordinary Level requirements.
(e) HND Holders may be admitted into 200 or 300 Level depending on the regulation guiding admission into each department/programme

All direct entry candidates are required to apply through JAMB.

For Food Science and Technology and Nutrition and Dietetics,candidates must posses O’Level credits to include Mathematics,English,Biology,Chemistry and Physics.

(ii) Direct Entry

(a) NCE/ND or approved equivalent in relevant programmes.

(b) At least two Advanced Level passes to include Chemistry and any one of the following:
Biology/Botany, Zoology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics and Geography.
(c) IJMB /JUPEB at acceptable grade levels in relevant subjects.
(d) HND Holders from recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of Upper Credit.
(e) For Nutrition and Dietetics,candidates must posses:NCE/ND or approved equivalent in Food and Nutrition or National Diploma in Agriculture Or Nigerian Registered Nurse or approved equivalent in relevant fields
(f) In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 2(i) above.

(D) FACULTY OF HUMANITIES (3 or 4 Year Programme)kk

General Entry Requirements
(i) All applicants are required to have credits in at least five O`Level (5) subjects at SSCE, GCE, NECO or approved equivalent.

Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Science and Science Education must possess a minimum of five (5) Ordinary level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in addition to specific departmental requirements.

The five O’ Level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any two from Further Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography, Economics and Technical Drawing.

(i) At least two GCE Advanced Level passes to include Mathematics and Physics

(ii) HND Holders from a recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credit for admission into 300 Level.
(ii) IJMB/JUPEB/NCE/ND or approved equivalent
(iii) In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 4 (ii) (a) above.

(5) Department of Mathematics and Statistics

(i) Degree Programme Options

B.Sc. Mathematics; Statistics.

(ii) Admission Requirements

(a) ‘ O’ Level Subjects
The five O’ Level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics and Technical Drawing

(b) Direct Entry
(i) At least two GCE Advanced Level passes to include Mathematics and any one of Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Statistics and Physics.
(ii) IJMB/JUPEB/NCE/ND/or approved equivalent
(iii) For Statistics,a diploma in Statistics from a recognised university is acceptable.
(iv) HND Holders from recognised Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credit for admission into 300 Level.
(v) In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 5 (ii) (a) above.

(6) Department of Physics and Solar Energy

(i) Degree Programme Option
B.Sc. Physics with Solar Energy.
B.Sc. Physics with Electronics.
(ii) Admission Requirements

(a) ‘O’ Level Subjects
The five O’ Level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one of Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics and Food and Nutrition.

(b) Direct Entry
(i) At least two GCE Advanced Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
In exceptional cases, Physics and Chemistry may be considered.
(ii) IJMB/JUPEB/NCE/ND/ or approved equivalent.

(iii) HND Holders from a recognised Polytechnic with a minimum of Lower Credits in Physics or Physics with Electronics or Electrical Electronics Engineering may be admitted into 300 Level.
(iii) In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 6 (ii) (a) above.

(G) FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES (3 or 4 Year Programme)

General Entry Requirements
Candidates seeking admission into the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences must possess a minimum of five (5) Ordinary level Credit Passes to include English Language and Mathematics in addition to specific departmental requirements.

(iii) In addition, candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ level requirements as stated in 6 (ii) (a) above

I. MODE OF APPLICATION
(a) On-Line Application

To complete the application online:
(i) Visit Bowen University website http://apply.bowenuniversity-edu.org/apply/register_apply.php to create an identity.
(ii) On the resulting registration confirmation page, click on the button labelled Proceed to Pay in order to gain access to the account you just created. You may then proceed to generate the unique Transaction ID for your application form fee payment. Ensure that you print out the Fees Payment Slip which contains the steps on how to make a proper payment.
(iii) Pay a sum of Seven Thousand Naira (N7,000.00) only as application form fee using your ATM Card/Quick teller options at any bank of your choice.
(iv) Upon confirmation of payment, an applicant is to use his/her unique identity (Email Address & UTME No.) to complete and submit the e-application form via the Bowen University website.

(b) Payment for On-line forms through Banks

(i) Applicants may also pay through any branch of Skye Bank, Diamond Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank or Guaranty Trust Bank after completion of steps (a)i and (a)ii above (if unable to access an ATM Card/Quick teller option to complete the electronic transaction):
N.B.: You must insist on having a BranchCollect teller officer to process your payment as any random deposit (without a generated Transaction ID) will be voided.

(ii) After payment, a confirmation will be forwarded to the applicant’s e-mail which will be utilized to access the on-line application form.
(iii) Candidates who are unable to make payments through the above medium may come to the examination venue with their bank drafts obtained from any of the banks stipulated above.
