A friend from topserve told me about the Atiku Abubakar foreign scholarship which is opened to all Nigerian students who are qualified to apply by the Ex-Vice president himself, Atiku Abubakar. The scholarship which is aimed at improving and contributing to the growth of the nation’s educational level was officially announced from his office in Abuja. According to him, the scholarship was being given as a result of his love for education and its importance to all Nigerians.

According to the information I gathered from the crew, the scholarship is open to all Nigerian citizens who are currently undergoing, or have been admitted into a course of study at undergraduate or Post graduate level at a government recognized institution of learning either in Nigeria or outside Nigeria.

Interested applicants have been asked to submit an essay on the topic “More learning to more people” how can Nigeria be more innovative in bridging its literacy and skills gap?

Applicants who should apply, are expected to write between 2,000 and 5,000 words and must be in English language. It was also said that the official deadline for the submission of the essay will be on or before the 31^st of August 2013.

How to submit your essay on the Atiku Abubakar Scholarship

Remember that I said your essays should be between the ranges of 2,000 to 5,000 words. You are also expected to email you essay in a Microsoft document to [email protected]

The first page of the essay should be containing:

–Entrants name and date of birth

–Entrants contact details (Please provide a valid email and phone number)

–Entrants institution (With full institution address included), course of study, year of entry and student number) Do not forget to specify whether you are an undergraduate or a postgraduate.

Your essays are expected to be in a legible font (font size 12); 1.5 –spaced or double – spaced.
