OERL Study in India Scholarship programme started in association with Indian Education Promotion Council (IEPC) in 2010 of which about 34 Nigerian students went for study in Saint Francis De-Sale College (University of Bangalore) India. These first sets of students have graduated in June 2013.  The 2010 scholarship programme was restricted to students in Lagos state being the first edition and the publicity was done by Super screen Television in Lagos. Due to some logistic issues, in 2011, there was a hold in OERL scholarship and by 2012, OERL scholarship came up again with 18 winners in various courses. The examination for 2012 scholarship exam was held in Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Abuja conducted by National Business and Technical Examinations Board and the publicity was handled by a known and number one Nigerian Online Student Information Company- My School.

The 2013 OERL scholarship publicity was handled by My School and more than 1000 students sat for the scholarship exam conducted in Abuja, Benin City, Awka, Port-Harcourt, Kaduna, Lagos and Jos and the exam conducted by National Business and Technical Examinations Board one of the leading examination Board in Nigeria. The 2013 OERL scholarship saw 45 winners studying presently at Saint Francis De-Sales College India, and Nitte Institute of Technology India.

Upon the success of the 2013 study in India Scholarship, Oredian Education Resources hereby announced the registration of students for 2014 OERL study in India Scholarship for 2014 academic year beginning in June 2014 in collaboration with Indian Partner Institutions.

NATURE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship worth of $150,000 for tuition fee only will be available and distributed winners in various courses as provided by the approving Institutions. Scholarship to be awarded covers Tuition fee only while students are to take care of other expenses. There are two types of scholarships for 2014:

  • ACADEMIC BASED SCHOLARSHIP (ABS)

    The scholarship will be awarded to students based on their respective performances in the OERL Study in India scholarship examination. ABS are of three categories as follows:

    • Full Scholarship
      This scholarship covers the fee of 3 years or 4 years degree programme. Students are expected to score a minimum of 80% and above aggregate in the scholarship exam.
    • Two years Scholarship
      This covers the tuition fee for two years of any 3 years degree course of study. Prospective winners in this category are expected to at least score 50% in the scholarship exam.
    • One Year Scholarship:
      This covers only one year tuition fee of a three years degree program. Students are expected to score at least 40% in the scholarship exam.
  • SPORT BASED SCHOLARSHIP (SBS)

    Full scholarship has been approved by two sponsors Institutions- Saint Francis De-Sales College and Loyola Academy for 30 students in the under listed Sport & Games:

    • Football
    • Basketball
    • Volleyball
    • Handball
    • Field events

The prospective applicants must be academically qualified for any of the available courses before applying for scholarship under SBS.
