I guess after making so many articles about so many places and different things, it will be much better for me to lay down some things I have been able to discover from one of the world finest island, blessed with so many natural and human resources and really a good place to behold every moment of the day, Bonny. Today, I will be giving you some little fun and appetizing ingredients that have largely contributed to the greatness of this very island. So many person’s call Bonny a friendly place, some call it “the land of money,” but I choose to just call it the “island of beauty” that is because it is more to what you can just see.

Cross View Of The People iN Bonny Island

Bonny Island is currently ruled by His Royal Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP Perekule XI who succeeded the throne from his father and till date runs the Kingdom. The island is richly blessed with multi-national companies which includes NLNG, Shell, Fougeroule and a host of others too numerous to mention. Maybe that must be the reason the island has always been a window to the acceptance of many foreigners from across other, L.G.A’s, States and nations.

Overview Of The Island

One amazing fact about this  island is it’s connection to the Atlantic ocean which makes it easy for all kinds of marine trades to take place. But there are some mysterious facts cloning around this island which tickles my imagination a lot, and this is the fact that the island is very much below sea level but never for one day have their been any crisis like flooding. It seems surprising, but it is just real like the skies above. Too many people troop into the island because of the availability of uninterrupted power supply and other basic social amenities. Infact, a black out in Bonny Island seems strange to all her inhabitants due to the fact that they have been used to steady power supply right from the period the companies engaged in meaningful decision to make it that way.

Company Overview

There are lots of things to know about this island. But before I close my laptop, do you know that Bonny holds one of West Africa and Nigeria’s oldest cathedral? Yea. It may surprise you to know that the St. Stephen’s Cathedral In Bonny, was built in the year 1861 by the colonial Missionaries who also landed the first copy of the Holy Bible as a gift to the King as at that time. According to the information gathered, the church is said to be the first cathedral church built in Nigeria and the second oldest Cathedral in West Africa. I guess that must be the reason why the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Ameachi halted the plan to demolish the church. That alone, is really a good heritage of the Island.

Carnival View Of  Bonny Island

I think I have said quite a lot about the Island. Maybe you can try visiting there because I am catching my holiday there presently and I had no option than to write about the great hospitality the island has showered on me. Mind you. The two means of transportation to Bonny is by sea and air. So which ever way you choose just suits you.
