I really want to thank you guys for counting on me for the latest updates on the RSSDA scholarship for the year 2014/2015. As you all know, the year has already ended and the RSSDA scholarship registration for the year 2014/2015 was not achieved.

Due to the voluminous calls and other questions that has been arising as a result of this scholarship, i took it upon myself to make inquiries concerning the latest news surrounding the RSSDA scholarship. I had a conversation with one of the beneficiary of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) scholarship asking if he knew what was holding this year’s scholarship as registration last year started within the first week of December. According to him, it is possible the RSSDA scholarship for this year will not hold.These are the possible reasons the RSSDA schholarship may not hold:

— Political Instability

As you all know, the political instability in Rivers State has halted some projects. This as a result of the current party swap that is currently gaining root in the state today. This activity can freeze some projects in the states as attention will be drifted from developments to politics.

— The Governor’s Speech

Two weeks ago, i was watching the campaign of the  Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Ameachi, a former member of PDP who is now an APC member. He did mentioned that Rivers State was bound to face hard times but come 2015 there will be stability in Rivers State. I guess the RSSDA scholarship or the project itself is part of the hard times that is currently being faced.

These are just one out of the many factors that might be influencing the 2013/2014 Rssda scholarship from kicking off.
