These days, what we hear more often is Strike and less academic success celebration. The latest news received denotes that the Non-Academic staff of the Akwa Ibom state University has embarked on an indefinite strike action.
The letter which contains information on the strike, states:
“In compliance with the National industrial court judgement of 1st April, 2014 and the tripartite agreement signed by the state labour leaders, Aksu management and registered trade unions on campus on the 2nd July, 2014 whose ultimatum expired on the 2nd august, 2014.”
ALL NON-TEACHING STAFF ARE HEREBY DIRECTED TO EMBARK ON INDUSTRIAL STRIKE ACTION FROM MONDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2014 TILL FURTHER NOTICE AS AGREED BY THE CONGREGATION.
