I have been seeing a whole lots of competition only on the  musical talents show,  and entertainment stuffs. I kinda wondered if software or apps developer will be left out of the competition this year.I guess, the Mtn network is kinda putting my thoughts into consideration. I am glad to inform you that the MTN  network has launched an App Developer Competition welcoming participants from all corners to showcase their app creating skills. The competition which is described as an avenue to appreciate the ICT industry by discovering hidden skills that need much appreciation for the self developed interest in the Information Technology industry.

Applications to be submitted for the competition should fall between any of the following categories mentioned below:

— Games

–Education

–Health And Wellness

–Productivity

–Entertainment and lifesyle

–And a special category for students submission (For undergraduates)

The top four (4) most downloaded apps from the customers will be selected judging by its number of downloads from customers, while the judges will be given the channel to  choose at random from the number of submitted apps to automatically enter for the application. This option is called the wild card option. Yea! i know you might have heard about such grammar. Someone may ask, what are the judges looking out for? according to the information i got, the criteria s for the submission of the application will be based on the below mentioned:

–The authenticity or the originality of the app

–Its user experience (The best is to be taken)

–Its relevance  of concept to the market

–And above all, its commercial visibility

Although the post seems to be a little bit late, but i must say that submission began about 6 days ago and i am just making a post about it today (30/07/13). Sowi, but you gat to forgive me though. But their is a better news. The deadline for submission is on or before the 24th of October 2013. With my calculation, that will be a whole lots of time given for you to make that very special app. With what i heard, the winners of this competition will be announced on the 13th of December 2013.

You will have to get your friends, family or even enemies to download your app from the MTN Next App Store. Remember that the chosen criteria is based on the number of downloads your app receive so you should be able to scale through among the top four chosen apps.

You are expected to mail the name of your app and the developer account name to the email address you see on the MTN Next App store portal ([email protected]).
