Job Title: Chief Product Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos + Partially Virtual
Reporting Line: Chief Innovations Officer

Job Purpose

• This role is responsible for translating the product strategy into action and owning the product roadmap.
• In addition to that, the incumbent is instrumental in executing on business case development, competitive analysis, product-market fit, product differentiation, and serve as representative of the product, the market, and the company’s success.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for product strategy and product roadmap.
• Translate the product strategy vision into action by executing on business case development, competitive analysis, product-market fit, product differentiation, and serve as the voice of the customer.
• Develop the end-to-end portfolio product vision and roadmap for innovations, ensuring initiatives run smoothly across internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Deliver results to the business quantified using terms such as P&L, usage and user growth, churn rates, product performance increase in client satisfaction, etc.
• Create product communication channels between Technology, Sales, Marketing, etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to strengthen the Go to Market, Retention, and Technology strategies.
• Provide unbiased opinions that identify missing key segments, new trends, emerging competitors, and portfolio level interdependencies.
• Work directly with end customers, business partners, marketing, and sales teams to determine the best functionality and relative priorities
• Manage the inputs for the agile development process to assure development is set up for success in meeting delivery schedules.
• Provide input and support to product marketing as needed
• Communicate priorities and status with executives and business partner leadership
• Coach, inspire, and mentor product management leadership and team.

The Ideal Person
The Ideal Candidate must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Preferably an MBA
• Board Level Communications Skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, motivate, and inspire teams with clarity
• Ability to quickly adopt change & influence project team through action
• Ability to prioritize distinct tasks in an environment with multiple competing priorities
• Able to deliver multiple portfolio strategies from concept to cash
• Experience with Pricing model creation and execution
• Ability to manage a team of product managers
• Ability to take business use cases and create digital financial services products and infrastructure out of them
• Deep knowledge of core banking applications, reconciliation systems, digital banks, enterprise payment and transactions products, card schemes and products.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse business needs and create solutions for development teams to implement.
