Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Lagos (Remote)

Description

• As lead for the engineering team, you will work with your team to scope and develop new features across a suite of products.
• While you will be primarily assigned a product to contribute to as an individual contributor your experience and input would be required on other products across the company.

As a Senior Engineer, you are expected to mentor and direct the junior developers, on your team. You will:

• Work closely with your team of engineers to scope and develop new features.
• Work with management to plan roadmaps for products assigned.
• Develop solutions and implement requirements to support the growth of our products worldwide.
• Be a mentor to junior developers.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript with 5 or more years of production experience.
• Excellent knowledge of React and React ecosystem (Redux, Reselect, Redux-toolkit, Sagas).
• Strong intuition and eyes for design – including user experience.
• Previous experience building large-scale products.
• A solid understanding of design principles and patterns.
• Experience with testing and tracking performance metrics in products and features.
• Some experience in one or more of the following is a plus: Shipping, Freight, software as a service, big data, security and privacy, development and operations, or artificial intelligence/machine learning.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, UI/UX, Sales, Customer Support, Finance, or Marketing.
• High attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial – You want to start a company one day and have a high tolerance for ambiguity.
• Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
• AWS experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cypress is a plus.
• Willingness to lead a team of engineers.
