Mechanical Engineer Recruitment at PivotGis (Bonny Island) Full Time

A vacancy exists for the position of a Mechanical Engineer in our client’s operation in Bonny Island, Rivers State. Details of the position are as highlighted below.

Qualifications
Candidates should have the following:

1.  A Minimum of B.Eng. BSC or HND in Mechanical, Marine, or Petroleum
   Engineering.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Mechanical Supervisor or 2 years as Project Engineer in Plant Construction, Maintenance and Shutdown Projects.

Accountability:
Mechanical Engineer reports and is accountable to Senior Mechanical Engineer/Coordinator.

Basic Functions:

1.  To competently take ownership of assigned work scope from planning to execution and final close out.
2. Manage assigned Mechanical Supervisors and Technicians to ensure clear understanding of assigned work scope and execution strategy safely.
3. Follow up all execution activities with the Supervisors to ensure compliance to
   strategy.
4. Effectively work with NLNG’s policies and procedures and work instructions in the execution of given work scope.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Receive assigned work scope from Snr. Mechanical Engineer/ Coordinator.
2. Provide input during planning to ensure visibility of assigned sequence and duration.
3. Ensure Mechanical Supervisors understand the scope of work to be executed.
4. Ensure proper interface with other disciplines during execution to ensure the safety of all.
5. To ensure all assigned Front-End and field works during PMN Non-Routine Campaign and project works are completed according to scope, schedule within budget in conformance to NLNG’s work procedures & Industry standard.
6. Ensure the works are carried out with precision and professionalism as per Non Routine Campaign and project plans during preparation execution and close out stages, in accordance to company work procedures, work packages and HSE policies

Technical / Business Skills:

1. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
2. Ability to supervise layout and installation of mechanical equipment and facilities.
3. Understand basic operating principles of mechanical equipment installed in process plants.
4. Ability to monitor the accuracy of specification parameters in executed work scopes.
5. Ability to investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation,and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
6. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
7. Working knowledge of Process Plant or similar industrial environment. Also working knowledge of industrial HSE policies e.g. PPE, observe, Intervene and Report (check cards), Toolbox meeting, LMRA.

Interpersonal Skills:

1.  A good team player.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. Ability to work extra hours to ensure workmanship is carried out accordingly to international and company’s standards and procedure.
