Job Summary

• We are seeking a creative and dedicated Chef to join our client’s culinary team in Maitama, Abuja. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. The Chef will prepare and deliver high-quality dishes that meet our client’s guests’ expectations and contribute to the overall success of our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Menu Development: Design, create, and update menus that reflect seasonal availability, guest preferences, and restaurant standards
• Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and attention to detail in taste and presentation.
• Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure stock is fresh and well-maintained.
• Quality Control: Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Staff Supervision: Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring a high standard of performance and collaboration.
• Cost Control: Manage food costs by minimizing waste, utilizing seasonal ingredients, and optimizing inventory.
• Customer Satisfaction: Respond to customer feedback, adjusting recipes and presentation to enhance guest experience.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 2 – 5 years work experience.
• Proven experience as a Chef or in a relevant culinary role.
• Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
• Creative and passionate about food and customer satisfaction.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Expertise in a specific cuisine or cooking style.
• Familiarity with menu costing and budget management.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting heavy kitchen equipment and supplies
