Job Summary

• The Steam Turbines DCS Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling steam turbine operations via the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• The role ensures stable and safe turbine operation, load management, efficiency optimization, and compliance with standard operating and safety procedures

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate turbine systems through the DCS panel.
• Maintain turbine load, speed, pressure, and temperature parameters.
• Acknowledge and respond to alarms, trips, and deviations.
• Coordinate with field operators during start-up, shutdown, and maintenance.
• Record performance data, trends, and log shift activities.
• Adjust steam flow and valve settings to match load demand
• Ensure synchronization and load sharing with the grid or internal systems.
• Comply with all SOPs, LOTO, and EHS procedures.
• Communicate with control room, shift engineer, and electrical teams as needed.
• Participate in tuning and reliability testing activities.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Diploma or HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Power Plant Technology
• Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Certification in Turbine Operations or DCS Control preferred).
• 5 – 10 years in steam turbine DCS operation in cogeneration or thermal plants.
