Accounting Associate at Andela Nigeria Full Time

Job Title: Accounting Associate
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
About the Role
- To ensure timely preparation of month-end schedules, complete and accurate recognition of expenses and filing of statutory returns.
- You will report to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring timely posting of invoices and processing of payments to suppliers
- Perform Bank postings and Bank reconciliations
- Handle petty cash process in line with approved documentation
- Ensure accuracy in ascertaining and timely payment of all statutory obligations and filing with relevant government authorities
- Handle fixed assets by ensuring monthly updates and assisting in asset verification exercises
- Review transactions for completeness, accuracy, accurate documentation, and approvals before processing
- Preparation of the weekly cash flow plan
- Assist the accounting team in the timely close of the monthly accounts
- Maintain an accurate electronic filing system
- Assist in developing reporting processes, procedures, and internal controls for maintaining the efficient flow of all financial transactions
- Assist during audits for both internal and external
- Perform other duties as and when required by the Accounting Manager
Experience & Qualifications
- +2 years of overall experience in a similar role, audit experience will be an advantage
- Knowledge of any accounting software will be a plus
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools
- ICAN/ACCA is an added advantage
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Fast learner and able to work in a team
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
