Life is full of irony. Just few days ago, smoking garri (drinking garri) was considered poverty and is only synonymous with hungry students alone. Up to the extent that a video was posted on youtube displaying Nigeria ’s Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo smoking garri.
So many persons laughed at him for smoking garri in public because they thought it was a poor man’s food and felt that he was too rich to smoke garri. After the increment of the price of garri which even doubles the cost presently in Nigeria , garri is now considered the meal for the rich man.
Now you will have all reasons to acknowledge and respect those that smoke garri both in public and private because garri is now the meal for the rich now.
