Some candidates who have participated in the on-going Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination in Kwara state have expressed regrets over challenges they encountered during the examination which they said grossly affected their capacity for success.

Those not computer literate were the worst hit as they complained that the training given to them before the examination was not enough to successfully scale certain hurdles and finish their papers within allocated times.
Other challenges which they highlighted include lateness in the time of the examination and submission at the end of each paper rather than at the end of all papers.
Narrating her experience, Miss Alake Adio who wrote her examination at the University of Ilorin said she was one of the candidates scheduled to start their examination by 6:30 am but who ended up starting at 9:30 am.
She said, “Apart from starting late, most of the computers we used at my centre kept logging out. Mine logged out three times and once that happened, I had to start again which always took so much time. Also, the result the board sent to my telephone was 137 and when I later checked online it was 177 which indicated that they omitted my physics and the omission caused me a lot because I cried throughout the night before we found out my real score.”
Another candidate, Shola Muhammed lamented that he had not seen his result 24hours after he wrote the examination. He said, “Some of my colleagues have seen their results and up till now that I am talking to you, I have not seen mine. Maybe what delayed us in starting the examination is also responsible for the delay in sending the result.”
Many of the candidates appealed to the board to change the way the examination is written because submitting at the end of the four papers made many of them to fail the examination. Explaining this point, a candidate who preferred anonymity, said, “I clicked the submit button when I finished my first paper and once you do that, that is the end of the examination. One will end up answering only one paper instead of four.”
