About SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the main regulatory institution of the Nigerian capital market. It is supervised by the Federal Ministry of Finance.[1] The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is privately owned and self-regulating, but the SEC maintains surveillance over it with the mandate of ensuring orderly and equitable dealings in securities, and protecting the market against insider trading abuses.

SEC General Recruitment Requirements

  • B.Sc, HND, NCE, OND in either Accountancy, Law, or Economics disciplines. It must be awarded by a recognized institution.
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) that boats of four passes.
  • National Examination Council (NECO) is required.
  • Must be a computer literate
  • Must have credit passes in either SSSC OR WASSCE
  • National Diploma from any recognized institution.
  • At most 35 years of age.
