General Requirements

  • Salaries would be based on the approved Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS), Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and Consolidated Public Salary Structure (CONPSS) as applicabie in the Rivers State Civil Service.

Method of Application(New Application Method via online)

The Rivers State Government has suspended the manual submission of applications for the 5,000 jobs into the state civil service, after criticisms by applicants and stakeholders

The Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Kiikpoye Philip said in a statement that the suspension is due to non-compliance with COVID-19 protocols and the rising number of applicants which could result in a stampede

He said the applications will now be received online from 12noon today (12th November, 2020) through the portal, rivjobs.ng.

He added that those who have submitted the hard copies at the state secretariat are also to apply online. The Permanent secretary also released a timetable for online submission. According to the schedule; below is the days of submission based non local government area:

Today 12th November, 2020 is for Ahoada West, Oyigbo and Ogu/Bolo

Tomorrow is for Khana and Emohua.

Saturday is for Gokana, Asari-Toru and Bonny.

Monday next week is for Obio/Akpor.

Tuesday next week is for Eleme, Akuku-Toru and Ogba-Egbema- Ndoni.

Wednesday next week will be the turn of Opobo/Nkoro, Degema and Ikwerre.

Applicants from Port Harcourt and Andoni will submit on Thursday next week.

While Friday next week is for Abua/Odual, Okrika and Omuma.

Saturday next week is for Ahoada East, Etche and Tai.

Monday November 23th is for none indigenes.

From Tuesday November 24th to December 11 is for those who could not apply online within their scheduled dates. The employment opportunity has now been expanded to include those seeking to be teachers, tourism and cultural officers, sculptors, graphic artists, computer scientists and statisticians.

Interested and qualified candidates should submit hand written Applications and Details of Curriculum Vitae and Photocopies of the following:

  • West African School Certificate or Equivalent
  • University Degree and other Professional Certificates/Evidence of current Professional Licence, if applicable
