Sequel to the announcement of the 2017 University of Lagos Convocation ceremonies, the authorities of the University wishes to inform all 2015/2016 academic session graduating students that they are expected to make payments for the upcoming convocation ceremony as indicated below:

Refund will only be made on the return of the academic outfit on or before Friday, March 17, 2017.

Academic outfit will be available in the College, School of Postgraduate Studies, Faculties, and the Distance Learning Institute.

Procedure for Payment and Refund

Graduating Students are to pay for academic outfit, brochures and certificates by accessing the University website (www.unilag.edu.ng), complete the form under Unilag payment portal (student category).

Thereafter, students are to proceed to any bank of their choice with the RRR generated, for payment as appropriate.  Copies of bank teller and payment advice bearing bank confirmation should be taken to the faculty for gown collection.

INVITATION CARDS FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS
Each graduating student is entitled to two invitation cards.  The invitation cards and complete set of academic outfit made up of gown, hood, cap and scroll would be available for collection on presentation of receipt/teller for payment at the College /School/ Faculty/ Institute as appropriate, Convocation Brochure and Academic outfit are to be collected at the various locations earlier mentioned.

Students are hereby assured that certificates will be ready for collection immediately after each ceremony upon the presentation of ALL necessary clearance.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The university community is hereby informed that for the avoidance of doubt, parties, erection of canopies and festivities related to this year’s convocation ceremonies are not banned or prohibited.

However, for security reasons and to maintain law and order, parties and festivities are to be restricted to the faculties, lagoon front, staff quarters and halls of residence.

In order to ensure adequate security during the Convocation Ceremonies scheduled to hold from Monday, January 23 to Thursday, January 26, 2017, parking and commercial activities are prohibited in the under-listed areas:

1.     Road from Main Gate to Senate House  and its environs;

2.     Faculty of Education car-park;

3.     Faculty of Environmental Sciences car-park;

4.     Faculty of Social Sciences Road;

5.     Road from Second Gate to Medical Centre Road (International School Road); and

6.     The Ransome-Kuti Road, Faculty of Education.

  • Graduating students, parents, guardians and the general public are encouraged to keep babies and toddlers out of the Convocation Hall.
  • Canopies are not allowed along major roads and worship areas.
  • Members of the university community are enjoined to comply with this directive.
