The Rector of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Prof. Oludele Itiola, has said the promotion of entrepreneurial education in the country will solve the challenge of unemployment among graduates.
He said this in Abeokuta at an entrepreneurship programme entitled “Open market day” organised for students by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of the institution.
He noted that students who had entrepreneurial study develop skills which make them employers of labour rather than employees.
He said, “The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development in this institution is to produce individuals with skills, attitudes and passion.
“It is aimed at making them job and wealth creators through entrepreneurial education and programmes, for profitable self-discovery, self-development and self-expression.”
Itiola thus advised the federal and state governments to tackle high rate of unemployment among the graduates by providing soft loans for those who have skills to start their own business.
