Since its inception under President Truman, the Council’s function has been to advise and assist the President on national security and foreign policies. The Council also serves as the President’s principal arm for coordinating these policies among various government agencies. The NSC is chaired by the President.

About NSC

Nigerian Shippers’ Council is an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The council is responsible for protecting exporters and importers in Nigeria as well as its goods. The Agency is an affiliation of Nigerian Ports Authority and were under the supervision of Ministry of Transportation.

NSC General Recruitment Requirements

• Must be Nigerian
• Not be less than 1.7 metres in height and 1.64 metres for male and female respectively.
• Chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres for male.
• Certified by physically and mentally fit by a government medical officer fit for appointment.
• No form of disability (Mentally or physically)
• Must be of good conduct
