There is an ongoing special skill acquisition/capacity development training programme sponsored by the Nigerian NLNG, which is meant to boost the skill pool of Bonny Indigenes in readiness for the train 7 project. The training will be organized in batches and will hold at the Bonny Vocational Centre (BVC).

The first batch of the training is expected to commence on Monday the 8th of November, 2021.

Application Requirements/Criteria For NLNG Skill Acquisition Programme

  • Candidates must be able to read and write/basic literacy.
  • Candidates indicating interest for technician cadre (Electrical/Instrument/Process control technician) must have minimum national diploma, advanced national technical certificate (NABTEB), or advanced diploma of city and guilds in the selected area.
  • Must be 18 to 45 years of age (No under – age, no over age).
  • Must be from Bonny Kingdom and resident in Bonny Kingdom.
  • Previous relevant working experience is a plus (e.g shut down/Plant maintenance etc)
  • Candidates who meet the criteria will also be subjected to a pre-assessment test to assess basic literacy.

Note:

  • Application period is for 2 weeks starting from Monday 18th October to Friday 29th October 2021.
  • Training will be conducted in batches of 6 weeks with first batch expected to begin from Monday, 8th November 2021. Successful candidates will be notified of their batch and training dates once selection is complete.
  • Candidates should note that the training cycles will run from November 2021 to August 2022 and their training may fall anytime within this period.
  • Candidates must be ready to learn fast and put their best efforts into the training.
  • Candidates with disciplinary issues, unacceptable behaviors will be expelled from the training.
  • Successful participation in the training is not a guarantee of employment but participation may be an added advantage during employment of workers on the NLNG train 7 project.
  • No remuneration or training allowance shall be provided.
