Role Summary/Purpose
- The Quality Specialist 6 is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
- Support the site manager for Quality Assurance process.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the site manager for Quality Assurance process.
- Establish and perform quality functions and documentation as required by GE, Customer, specifications and applicable codes and standards.
- Audit and assure implementation of sub-contractors Quality Program and documentation in all phases of power plant construction (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Welding) procedures in accordance with contract specifications and applicable drawings.
- Perform surveillance of Partner Quality Program and documentation in all phases of power plant construction (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Welding) procedures in accordance with contract specifications and applicable drawings and report findings to Site Manager.
- Complete Monthly Quality Control Status reports for Site Manager’s Monthly Report.
- Input data and up load documents to Project Net and input data into Quality Control Metric Data Base where required.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent.
- 4 years hands on experience in a Field Services role.
- A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
- Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria.
- Prior experience in Construction Quality Assurance, Inspection, or Engineering is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and design drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret Welding Procedures and Qualifications.
- Strong working knowledge of construction building, welding, concrete and electrical codes is preferred.
- Strong organization and recording keeping skills.
- Ability to work with diversified groups of people from Engineers to Construction Laborers in a union or non-union environment on a daily basis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
