Information gathered revealed that four lecturers of the Igbinedion University located at Okada in Edo State died in an accident on Wednesday along the Benin-Lagos Expressway.
The names of the lecturers involved in the fatal accident includes Mr. Morgan Uwaghiren, Mr. Lucky Ehiorobo, Mrs. Shirley Imade and Miss Shola Ajayi, all of the Department of Banking as well as Finance and Business Administration.
It was said that the accident occurred along the Oyia Bridge when the victims were returning from Okada, Oyia North East Local Government Area to Benin.

The car fell into the Oyia River with its victims.The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Benin Tollgate, Mr. Ameen Adewale, said they received a phone call on their 122 toll-free line that a vehicle had plunged into the Ovia River about 3:30pm on Wednesday
The vehicle was later discovered in the water around 7pm. The bodies of victims was evacuated around the hours of 12noon.
According to Adewale, an eyewitness said the driver of the Audi 80 car, marked BF 438 USL, was trying to avoid a truck, whose driver took the wrong lane, when the accident occurred.
