The Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, has approved the immediate sack of two lecturers over alleged gross misconduct and extortion.

The affected staff, a senior lecturer III of Science and Laboratory Technology and Senior Instructor,
Department of Building Technology (names withheld),were, according to official bulletin issued at the
weekend, found guilty of extorting money from students for project supervision.

While confirming the incident, the rector of the institution, Dr. Jacob Oboreh, said that the termination
was approved after a thorough investigation in line with the extant rules of the polytechnic and the recent
academic board approved disciplinary measures against staff who were involved in such act.

He said that the termination of the lecturers took effect from last Friday, adding that their names have
been withdrawn from payroll of the institution.
