Ondo State Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, says the initial challenges that might confront the governing council of the newly established Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, would translate into future testimonies.

Governor Mimiko, made the submission in his office during a courtesy call on him by members of the council led by its chairman, Ambassador Abubakar Cika.

Mimiko, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Kola Ademujimi, reiterated the determination of his administration to continue to do its best to support the new polytechnic, adding that the initial challenges were normal for newly established institutions.

The governor said that, “the Ondo State Government dreamt about the institution, worked for it and it was supported by God.”

He promised to liaise with the Federal Government in order to ensure quick release of fund for the institution, and also to include it in its supplementary budget.

Mimiko stated that his administration and the host community were keenly interested in supporting the Federal Government in ensuring a smooth take-off of the institution.

 He congratulated the council members and principal officers of the school, urging them not to relent in their efforts at ensuring that the institution achieves its desired objectives.

Chairman of the council, congratulated the government and people of the state on the establishment of the polytechnic and also expressed appreciation to the governor for facilitating its successful take-off.

He also thanked the Ile Oluji/Okeigbo council area chairman for donating administrative blocks to the institution, while expressing pleasure with developments on ground.

Cika said academics work would commence before the end of the year, with social science courses while engineering courses would come up later
