Authorities at the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, are set to introduce the Hitachi Smart Campus Solution into its teaching and learning system.
According to a statement by Green Circle Network Africa, an organisation representing Hitachi Solutions on Monday and signed by its Managing Director, Mr. Dipo Oke, the project involves the deployment of an interactive media classroom technology which connects all classroom in the varsity to one another and to a central server, amongst other benefits. With the development, Oke added that the pool of resources from the university will make it a virtual library for anyone across the world.
Speaking on the deployment of the technology in an earlier occasion, the founder, ABUAD, Aare Afe Babalola, expressed hope that the new teaching and learning system would increase the institutions visibility.
“The project, when fully operational, will not only give credence to the institutions commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and research, but would also help to increase webometric rating of the institution, thereby positioning it over and above her peers as a global institution o note. To this end, I hereby urged the lecturers and students alike to embrace the solution and see to it that the project does not fail, “he said.
