The University of Port Harcourt has matriculated 6,930 students admitted into the university for 2014/2015 academic session.
According to the break down, 1,911 were admitted in the College of Natural and Applied Science, while Faculty of Humanities admitted 1,183 students.
The Faculty of Education had 1,148 students, Faculty of Management Sciences 802, Faculty of Social Sciences 748, and College of Engineering 380. Others are, Faculty of Agriculture 348, College of Health Sciences 258, and Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences 152.
The Vice chancellor urged the students to shun vices like cultism, exam malpractice and others as the university will not tolerate such.
He also informed the new students that any student that fails to attend a minimum 75 per cent of all the lectures in a semester will not be allowed to write the semester examination.
