This board of academic leaders feature 15 MTNF Scholarship Beneficiaries that graduated with First Class Degree Honours from the respective programmes in the 2012/2013 session. Many of them also were prize/award winners for various award of excellence in their faculties and institutions.

The MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme was introduced in the 2009/2010 academic session to assist brilliant students to pursue their academic education in public Nigerian tertiary institutions. The scholarship, which is renewable yearly, provides recipients who maintain 2nd Class Upper grade score in their course of study; a sum of N200,000 per year covering tuition, book and pocket allowance.

Since inception, over 4,700 scholarships have been awarded to deserving students, amounting to over N900 million in six years. In 2012, MTN Foundation extended the scholarship scheme to cater for visually impaired students in public tertiary institutions.

The sterling performance exhibited by most of the beneficiaries of the scheme is a testimony of the integrity of the selection process, which is conducted simultaneously across the country. Some of the outstanding beneficiaries of the scholarship eagerly attribute their academic feats to the MTNF scholarship.

In the 2012/2013 academic session (MTNF Scholarship Phase 3), fifteen beneficiaries performed outstandingly by graduating with First Class Honours and set new records in their various institutions.
