About Role

• On this role, you will be responsible for sampling and analysis of all in-coming raw materials, raw materials samples from prospective suppliers, water, intermediate and finished products in accordance with defined sampling scheme and testing procedures.

What You Will Be Doing

• Follow safety and quality-related instructions and communicate deviations to superior.
• Sample and retest all raw materials to validate their fitness for further use in accordance with inspection plan and retest program. Recommend appropriate disposition to the Quality Manager for all materials tested.
• Material status identification: label all raw materials, intermediate products, laboratory reagents and test samples with appropriate and correct status labels at all times in order to identify their operational status.
• Equipment calibration: Calibrate required laboratory test and measuring equipment at specified intervals and maintain calibration records. Affix appropriate calibration status labels on all test and measuring equipment. Take all out of calibration equipment out of use. Include newly purchased equipment in calibration program.
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment and reagents: Monitor and maintain adequate inventory and records of all chemical, equipment, utensils, reagents, reference standards and consumables to prevent analytical down time. Keep laboratory equipment under the best operating conditions and maintain laboratory reagents and reference standards according to manufacturer’s recommended instructions.
• Technical support: Provide laboratory services and support during trial activities, process validation, supplier sample evaluation and stability programs.
• Documentation and record keeping: Correctly and legibly record all reagent inventories, reagent preparation, material sampling and all analytical data as soon as they are generated in appropriate documents in order to support prompt and accurate quality disposition.
• Ensure the maintenance of GLP in the lab and maintain all laboratory and analytical records properly to permit traceability.
• Carry out trending and interpretation of analytical data to guide production usage of materials and improve cost performance of process.
• Ensure that the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy are adhered to.
• Coordinate the execution of regular Safety audits in the lab to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure disposal of un-usable, spend or non-conforming laboratory materials in accordance with the company’s requirements and local regulations.
• Provide laboratory services and support during trials activities, process validation, C & D activities, supplier sample evaluation and stability programs.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or any related course.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality analysis obtained preferably from a cosmetic/FMCG company
• Excellent Process understanding
• Appreciation of other work disciplines, such as operations
• Excellent Analytical skills.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SAP (PP1, PE2).
• Good communication and relationship management skills
