Responsibilities
The Head of Information Technology will lead the company’s technology strategy, execution, and operations.

He will also:

• Manage technology services that meet operational requirements of the organization.
• Co-ordinate IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with minimal downtime.
• Provide leadership in technology portfolio for enablement and innovation.
• Coordinate and provide support to IT officers and other technicians for optimum performance.
• Deliver appropriate personnel actions and training programs to ensure high quality professional staff performance in the area(s) of oversight.
• Develop and oversee SMART goals for hardware, software, and storage.
• Identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security.
• Provide technical leadership on a variety of highly specialized project-related activities requiring expertise in specific technical areas for core information technology systems and services.
• Drive innovation for front office or core business operations by recommending viable technologies.
• Manage a portfolio of technology projects to meet cost, scope, and schedule constraints.
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
• Develop policies for internal IT operations to drive attainment of SLAs.
• Review vendor contracts and coordinate IT purchases (hardware, software, and services) to ensure effective deployment of solutions aligned with user needs.
• Participate as a member of the IT management team in planning, problem resolution, and reviewing department performance.

Typical KPIs

• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR): to measure the average number of hours required to repair the system, application or network to full functionality following a failure, or service interruption.
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF): to measure the average number of days elapsed between network, system, or application failures or outages.
• % Of overdue software requirements: percentage of overdue software requirements i.e., planned software requirements that have not been delivered in time.
• Time lag between changes and updates of documentation and training material: time lag between changes and updates of training, procedures, and documentation materials.
• % Of reported bugs that have been fixed when going live: percentage of total bugs that have been found while testing and are fixed when a new software release is going live.
• % Of application development work outsourced: percentage of application / software development work outsourced.

Requirements

• A Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or any relevant discipline.
• At least 5 – 7 years cognate experience preferably from a financial institution.
• Proficient in working with HTML, CSS, JAVA, PHP, and PYTHON.
• Expert in database management.
• Deep understanding of ethical hacking.
• Microsoft SQL certification is necessary.
• Be vast in computer hardware, repairs, inter-networking, and configuration.
• Be able to do LAN, VLAN, and WAN testing and configuration.
• Demonstrable knowledge of running server setups (MICROSOFT and LINUX), mail server, HYPER V, raid, and storage.
