The Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, formally known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), was established in October, 1980 from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology, which was itself established in 1972. It is located at Nkpolu-Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is the first Technological University in Nigeria and the first state owned State University in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The motto of the University is “Excellence and Creativity”.

Details
We are recruiting candidates for the Departments below:

• Department of Internal Medicine
• Department of Surgery
• Department of Pediatrics and Child Health
• Department of Community Medicine
• Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Department of Family Medicine.

Qualifications
Candidates for the position must satisfy the following criteria:

• Candidates must be holders of Ph.D in relevant fields with a minimum of 7 years cognate teaching, research and academic administrative experience in a University system.
• At least seven (7) years research and administrative experience with Ph.D or its equivalent such as MD Degree of Nigerian or British universities.
• Candidates must have a Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons / Physicians (FWACS / FWACP) or National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or their equivalents.

Conditions of Service

• Successful candidates will be required to assume duty as soon as possible and will be on probation for the first three (3) years. Thereafter, they will retire at the approved age of 65 years.
• Candidates could be allowed to transfer their service to the Rivers State University.
• Other conditions are similar to those obtained in other institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

Salary
CONUASS 6 (N8,661,033.00 – N11,468,743.00) Annually.
