Role Overview

• Under the supervision of the PPO Archiving and Documentation, the officer shall coordinate all documentation activities by maintaining all the working paper documents, reports, visuals including, record tapes and research publications, emanating from time to time at ECOWAS meetings. Capture, process, store and preserve for posterity and make them accessible to Users.
• In addition, the incumbent is expected to acquire a collection of books and non-books materials geared to the work program of ECOWAS and therefore the subject coverage of its collection is the same as stipulated in the treaty establishing the Community.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Acquire Relevant Information from Available Sources in all Form.
• Organize knowledge (Cataloguing and Classification)
• Set Goals and Priorities for Digital Library (Web based Library)
• Integrate Digital Library Initiatives throughout the Traditional Library’s Structure
• Be in charge Circulation/Reference Queries/Enquiries

Academic Qualificaion and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Library Science, Records Management, or a similar field from a recognized University.
• 5 years of experience in library and documentation.
• Thorough knowledge of ECOWAS rules and regulations on the control and limitation of documentation and meetings servicing.
• Knowledge in library management and documentation services.
• Experience in developing information tools on library collection and facilities.

Age Limit:

• Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.

• Fluency in oral and written expressions in one of the ECOWAS official languages of the Community (English, French & Portuguese). Knowledge of an additional one will be an added advantage.

• Identify, organize, and monitor tasks throughout to facilitate execution.
• Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others to set and meet deadlines.

• Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.

UA49,106.81 / USD77,480.72 ; UA56,591.37 / USD 89,289.87
