Job Overview

• The employer functions in the Auto-Engineering industry. and is seeking an experienced Logistics Officer to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations.
• Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
• Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
• understand, work with and possibly help to develop e-commerce.
• Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs.
• Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction.
• Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.
• Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc.
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
• Investigate and plan the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the perishable or hazardous nature of goods, cost, transit time, and security
• Arrange appropriate packing, taking into account the climate, terrain, weight, cost, and nature of goods and also the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination
• Negotiate contracts, transportation, and handling costs
• Obtain, check, and prepare documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries’ regulations and fiscal regimes
• Offer consolidation services by air, sea, and road, ensuring cost-effective and secure solutions to small shippers who have insufficient cargo to require their own dedicated units

Requirements and Skills

• B.Sc / HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
• Proven experience as a logistics coordinator.
• Experience in customer service will be appreciated.
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP).
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 / month.
