Job Summary

• The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Manager’s role is to coordinate, implement, and manage the organization’s Internet-based strategies and initiatives for GIS software.
• This individual is responsible for ensuring the development and maintenance of applications based upon spatially referenced data and digital mapping.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, and manage all aspects of GIS implementations.
• Participate in design of new GIS analysis methodologies, applications, and strategies.
• Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure GIS security.
• Design sophisticated raster- and vector-based GIS analysis and classifications.
• Maintain and augment remote sensing and relational databases.
• Coordinate and conduct GIS training sessions for GIS staff and end users with client-facing application needs.
• Provide GIS guidance and support to the enterprise; act as single point of contact for GIS-related issues.

Job Requirements

• B.Sc. in Geography, Computer Science or related field
• Relevant certifications will be required.
• At least 5 years work experience in a similar role
• Strong familiarity with ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcEditor, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, and ArcView software products.

Salary
