Job Title: Accountant and Admin Officer

Location: Agungi, Lekki – Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to: Executive Director and Chairman

Accountant’s Duties

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledgers; prepare and analyze budgets; and perform general bookkeeping. Responsible for billing activities, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable and recovery of debts.
• Responsible for Organizing Handbook, and administering payroll and pension related functions.
• Advise on compliance with legislation and guidance on matters relating to LIRS, FIRS, PENCOM, etc
• Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the school’s budget, and produce monthly reports for the Executive Directors/CEO and the Board of Directors
• Keep all school accounts and prepare income and expenditure reports in accordance with the financial regulations. Prepare accounts for submission to the school’s auditors.
• View the school’s real time bank transaction, including the school’s debit card/s, completing monthly reconciliations and reporting banking errors to the Executive Director/CEO.
• Responsible for all elements of cash handling including collections and disbursements, banking and security, fundraising and school trips.
• Be responsible for the completion of the school’s payroll, ensuring all forms including timesheets (where applicable), newstarter/leaver/variation forms and annual returns are submitted within required deadlines.
• Responsible for the placement of orders ensuring they are processed through the school’s finance accounting process.
• In conjunction with nominated staff members, scrutinise and attend to the payment of all invoices and statements of account.
• Carry out and keep analyses of costs and other statistical information.
• Co-ordinate and maintain a list of approved vendors, contractors and suppliers to ensure best value.
• Advise the Directors as required.

Administrative Duties

• Administration of the School Management System- for Reeds Schools-EDUIS online portal
• Participate in staff recruitment process as will be defined b the Executive Director/CEO
• Maintain a Productive communication with Parents
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and Federal standards
• Ensure that all administrative duties, checks, documentation, reports and returns (internal and external) are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
• Collate information, statistics and prepare reports as required by the Directors and CEO
• Other duties of an appropriate level and nature may also be required, as directed by the Head of School or the Executive Director/CEO.

Requirements

• Qualification: Degree in Accounting or it’s equivalent with at least 4 years experience in same field.
• MSc or MBA is an added advantage .
• Experienced working in an international school will be an added advantage.
• Must be experienced in the use of accounting packages
• Proximity is key

Salary
N120,000 – N170,000 monthly.
