Candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), who chose the Paper and Pencil Test Option (PPT) have had their results released online as their Computer-Based Tests (CBT) option colleagues await their turn to write the examination. The CBT option candidates will begin to take their turns in the 256 centres scattered all over and outside the country from next week.
The Board has released the 2014 UTME Computer Base Test examination dates and centres, but candidates need to reprint their Jamb CBT, 2014 registration slip. This is important because usually, there is a change in detail from the previous due to logistic reasons. One, being that the 2014\2015 UTME Computer Based Test (CBT) centres havs been increased by the authorities to 256 all over the country so reprinting will help you know your new examination date and help you to confirm your examination venue and city
The steps to doing this is quite easy and candidates do not need to pay at business centres as you can do it yourself. Simply login to JAMB 2014 E-registration portal at www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme1/ and navigate to the “RE-PRINT” tab. You will see two option thus:
a: Reprinting your slip using Jamb Reg Number or
b: Reprinting using your E-Registration Pin Number
Simply enter your Registration Number and click the Reprint Button,
A new page with the full new details for your Examination will pop out for you to print out for more information about your UTME, you may also mail JAMB official at [email protected].
The 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), usually conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for students applying for first degree studies in Nigerian universities will include a test on the reading culture of applicants.
Meanwhile, a statement from JAMB in Abuja to that apart from the usual appropriate choice of subjects, candidates will equally be tested on two general subjects to ascertain their levels of appreciation for reading.
“The public is also urged to note that candidates will be tested on two general books to enhance their reading culture irrespective of their choice of course of study.
The books are; The Successor by Jerry Agada and the Potter’s Wheel by Chukwuemeka Ike,” the statement from the head public relations of JAMB, Fabian Benjamin stated.
These two books are to be read by all candidates in preparation for the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, irrespective of the course of study you have chosen. What this means is that, even if you have chosen Petrochemical Engineering, Medicine & Surgery, Food Science and Technology, you must read this book for UTME 2014 preparations.
He noted that the board was determined to provide access to candidates desirous of tertiary education and has begun the sale of application documents into the nation’s tertiary institutions.
Benjamin explained that the early sale of the application form is to enable every Nigerian child desirous of tertiary education have access to the form on time to enable them prepare ahead for the examination slated for April 2014.
“Candidates across the globe who have successfully completed their secondary school education with a minimum of six credits including English Language and Mathematics are expected to obtain the forms at the designated banks and register with the approved cyber cafés across Nigeria and at the Nigeria High Commission Offices in Ghana, United Kingdom (UK), South Africa (SA), Cameroon, Jeddah and Biu.
Candidates are urged to ensure that their data are well captured at the cyber café and their subject choices are accurately entered,” he said.
